Brief introduction of Ecosystem ecology group
Major research directions of Ecosystem ecology group are to quantify the relations of structure and function in forest ecosystems of all aspects, to couple the species diversity and function processes, especially, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus and water cycles and the coupling of these processes under global environmental change.
The main task of the Ecosystem ecology group is the running of Dinghushan Forest Ecosystem Research Station (Guangdong Dinghushan Forest Ecosystem Research National Field Station), the station has first-class infrastructure for field and laboratory measurements.
Ecosystem ecology group has published more than 400 research papers, of which 130 papers were published in the science citation index journals including Science, Global Change Biology, Ecology. In the last five years, our research group was awarded a first class prize of the 2006 Guangdong Natural Science and a second class prize of the 2008 National Natural Science. Our research on old-growth forest was selected as China's top 10 events in basic research in 2006.
